Egyptian Cotton Bedding: Why Work So Hard When You Could Sleep Well?

Egyptian cotton bedding

What has not been said about it? That it improves the quality of dreams, promises a better life, greater alertness and a brighter smile. Yet some people apparently still do not know the virtues of Egyptian cotton. In this article, we set out to explain, put your mind at ease and your head on the pillow. We came away sleepy, no question.

Egyptian cotton bedding to improve your mood: Really?

Advertisements are full of information about the advantages of orthopedic mattresses, but few focus on how bedding quality affects the human body, sleep quality and, consequently, everyday alertness.

It turns out that quality Egyptian cotton bedding provides better, more comfortable sleep and, as a result, better and deeper dreams. How does quality bedding affect sleep quality?

Regulating body temperature

Bedding made from natural fabrics, such as Egyptian cotton, wool and bamboo, is more breathable. These fabrics therefore help regulate body temperature, allow ventilation and improve physical comfort, ensuring deeper, higher-quality sleep. Shops such as Passparto Bedding and Mattresses offer a wide range of quality natural-fabric designs intended especially for temperature regulation and optimal comfort.

Improving mood

Although Western culture gives the matter little attention, deep, good-quality sleep is among the strongest influences on mood stability, optimism and the general feeling on waking in the morning. Good, uninterrupted, deep sleep produces a good mood and a sense of lightness and freshness.

Body hygiene

Natural fabrics are known to be more breathable, allowing the skin to breathe more as well. Synthetic fabrics, by contrast, accumulate dead skin cells, sweat and bacteria, factors that significantly affect health and sleep quality and are, even on a psychological level, somewhat off-putting.

What is happening worldwide?

Today, most cotton bedding is made from selectively bred cotton. The three most sought-after varieties are Indian, Uzbek and Egyptian, with Egyptian considered the "queen of cottons."

Why does Egyptian cotton surpass the others?

Egyptian cotton has unique characteristics that give it an enchanting softness and a velvety feel. With good reason: its fibers are longer than those of ordinary cotton, making the woven fabric uniform and continuous and providing a blissful feeling during sleep.

Unlike other types of cotton, Egyptian cotton has a high thread count. While "ordinary" cotton has a density of no more than 200 threads per inch, Egyptian cotton has between 300 and 1,200 threads per inch of fabric. It is easy to see where that softness comes from...

However, when buying Egyptian cotton bedding, we should consider several important factors. First, examine the fabric composition: it is not always 100% cotton, and in some cases the fabric is blended with polyester, which is less breathable and less soft. Second, check that it has a sateen weave, a distinctive weave that gives the fabric a soft, pleasant feel, with which you could sleep for hours and sometimes even days.
